WORK STATUS ELEGIBILITY

New Employee

Anyone who is not Secondary or Basic Unit.

Secondary Workforce (Green Card)

Effective October 1, 2004, you must complete two (2) consecutive Contract Years of 1,300 hours worked each year. Cards will be issued once each year.

Basic Unit (Dark Blue Card)

A member of the Secondary Workforce who works 1.300 hours in three (3) consecutive Contract Years shall, October 1st following the third such year, become eligible for the Basic Unit.

Maintaining Work Status (Secondary Workforce and Basic Unit)

  • Any person who became a member who fails to work 500 work hours, or who has not been credited with a combination of 750 Worker’s Comp, Accident & Sickness (A&S) or work hours, for two (2) consecutive Contract Years, shall be dropped to New Employee Status.

  • Employees may regain their prior status if they work 500 hours or a credited combination of 750 work hours, comp or disability hours in either of the 2 years following their reclassification as a New Employee.

This is your Fidelity 401(a) retirement account with contributions from employers for hours worked. You can elect to make contributions from your weekly pay and/or defer Vacation and Container payments. [read more]

These are payments and credited hours if you are injured off the job or personal illness that stops you from working. [read more]

Annual payment based on Container tonnage handled in the Ports of Phildelphia and Wilmington. [read more]
